2021.10.28 04:01 coleonblue Question for those who ride with a suspension seatpost around here
Hello there. I am recovering from a herniated lumbar disc and was given a go signal to ride as long as it is either on a stationary bike or ourdoors with rear suspension, with the main concern being to avoid sudden bumps to the rear when riding.
I only do road cycling, and am curious if suspension seatposts can be tuned to cushion road bumps but remain firm enough to putting power to the pedals while riding solely on paved roads? How is the experience riding one only on roads? Do they actually reduce impact to the rear when on a road bike?
Any input is welcome! Thanks guys.

2021.10.28 04:01 autotldr ‘Only two pages’ of Luxembourg PM’s university thesis were not plagiarised
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 59%. (I'm a bot)
Luxembourg's prime minister, Xavier Bettel, has admitted his university thesis "Should have been done differently" after a media investigation concluded that only two of the work's 56 pages had not been plagiarised.
Bettel, 48, who has been prime minister since 2013, said the thesis was more than 20 years old and written with a clear conscience.
The thesis was written as part of an advanced diploma - roughly the equivalent of a master's degree - in public law and political science that Bettel completed at what was then known as the University of Nancy in the same year he entered parliament.
Fully 20 pages of the thesis were lifted straight from the website of the European parliament in defiance of a clear copyright warning, it said, with nine more taken from a 1998 report by a Greek MEP and further passages copied from a standard introductory textbook on the EU's institutions.
Germany's family minister Franziska Giffey was forced to step down in May over claims she plagiarised her doctoral thesis.
In 2013 Annette Schavan, then the education minister, had to step down after the University of Düsseldorf stripped her of her doctorate, while two years earlier defence minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg resigned for the same reason.

2021.10.28 04:01 ryanbadger What does your tech stack look like for onboarding & user data?
I'm working on setting up email automation to help users during specific stages of onboarding, and I'm pretty stumped on which tools to use vs what to do in house.
Currently, we have our own DB of course (MySQL) which contains all our user data, but not specifically the steps they have completed (although it can be calculated with queries based on what data we have for them etc)
Then we use mixpanel (a new addition), to track all the actual meaningful events. So we now have a huge amount of data in mixpanel... and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it other than stare blankly at the charts all day and tell myself "this looks good...?"
Finally for email, we currently use Sendgrid (API) to trigger automated welcome emails, and that's about it.
So my question is, what do people use for this? I had hoped that getting all the data into mixpanel would somehow help...but then I realised they retired all their "notification" type tools. So what even is it for now?
Should I use the sendgrid API to send emails using our own code logic based on user steps? (and accept that there's virtually zero visibility of results when using their API)
Or should I be syncing all my DB data to sendgrid (or similar) and then setup automated emails via their dashboard "flows"?
Or are there better existing tools for this stuff?
Really keen to hear what other people are doing 🙏

2021.10.28 04:01 yolky_777 People with autism have brains that work alot better then a neurotypical person
I have autism and life's great, except social interactions with neurotypical people, but when I'm dumbed down and drunk, I can socialise with ease and be the so called "cool guy", it feels I need to get drunk to get on a neurotypical thought level. This is with high functioning autism. I have once seen a non verbal person, hummm whilst drunk which was near impossible when sober
