2022.01.25 01:29 btwulook I (39m) love my wife (30f) more than anything, but monogamy feels impossible.

I’ve been with my wife 5 years. I love her more than I can possibly express. When we met, I told her right away that monogamy didn’t feel doable to me. She agreed that she could work with that. After a few months, she changed her mind. I tried monogamy and just wasn’t happy so I broke up with her.
After a few days, she said she wanted to try again. We dated, fell in love, got married, and got pregnant over the next year and a half, all while being non-monogamous in various ways.
While she was pregnant, she told me that she just couldn’t do non-monogamy anymore. At this stage, she was pregnant, we were married, and I lover her so I don’t want to force her to do anything she doesn’t want.
I’ve been monogamous for the past 3.5 years now. No cheating. My life is PERFECT! My wife supports me, we have a wonderful daughter, and it couldn’t be any better. However, I’m not sure if it’s the way I’m wired, but I feel like a man living in a mansion but I have no food.
Every day is a constant struggle. I’ve gotten to the point where I just avoid being around women in general. I masturbate a few times per day now, not because I want to, just to prevent sexual thoughts and temptation. It’s a preemptive measure.
I’ve been to therapy but my therapist just tells me that me and my wife aren’t compatible. I can’t accept that. I can’t accept a life without her and I can’t do that to me daughter. I need help over here.

2022.01.25 01:29 HarryMcClarry Proxies Created But Will Not Attach For Some Reason

I've created a proxy for a large video file but it doesn't seem to want to connect. When I look at the metadata display nothing shows up under proxy. Not "attached" and not "unlinked" or whatever it says....I tried "attaching" them and navigating to where it lives, and can see that it in fact did create one, but for some reason nothing happens when I click "attach." I've never experienced this issue before. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Does anyone have a high quality source? I am currently using Loot Studio, which I love. I am trying to out together a steam punk styled robot army/town. Free or paid is fine, but I would like to avoid subscription unless you think it truly worth it. I print 32 mm with resin. Thanks in advance.

2022.01.25 01:29 needpla Looking for a timer for my phone. To limit usage.

I want an app that gives me one hour a day to use my phone. Like a count down timer that pops up if the time I spend per day totals one hour it tells me or displays a banner saying "stop".
I think this will help me ration my time and force me to be more productive. And yes, I'm typing this on my phone.
Any app that you know of sound like this?

I’m wondering if you disclose your disability before being hired. I’ve gotten two a few in person interviews but once I get there they’ll say “did a puppy get lost” to my SD and then tell me they’ll be in touch and never reach back out. I can’t help but feel this is at least in part because of judgments they are making. Should I just push through and find a job that fits or how have you done it?

Welcome to Aegis [AGS]!
Aegis is a friendly and growing PvX community that is looking to bolster its ranks for the End of Dragons expansion. We are primarily a North American guild that hosts a variety of weekly events, including Fractals, Strikes, Metas, PVP (set in PST timezone).
All players are welcome to join Aegis, including new, casual, returning , as well as long-time veterans. We have a variety of members who are all willing and helpful!
Whichever type of player you are, all are welcome to join our variety of events regardless of experience. Fractals will be run at the tier the entire group is capable of completing based on Agony Resistance. Beginner friendly strikes are run weekly to help introduce players to raid-style content and mechanics. A raid static is not currently formed, but host raid training every Saturday to learn and improve.
If seeing a guild grow and expand as it builds up its guild hall, level, and experience is something that you enjoy, our guild is a community for you to consider joining. We work together on weekly Guild Missions to gain/earn enough experience for the next upgrade and it is an enjoyable community experience for all involved. We also host community events such as custom Jumping Puzzles, Fashion Contests, and Screenshot Hunts, all with prizes!
Our community has a discord server for new members to join. We use discord to follow GW2 news announcements, post event info and updates, socialize and share cute animals. Voice chat is not required but is sometimes used for events!
A couple of rules:

  1. Guild representation or event attendance is not required.
  2. Treat everyone with respect. Absolutely no harassment, witch hunting, sexism, racism, or hate speech will be tolerated.

2022.01.25 01:29 urrkuz Anyone familiar with supervisor in training program?

So my Costco just posted an opportunity to apply for "supervisor in training", anyone have any familiarity with this program? Also, I'm to write a "letter of interest" which I assume amounts to a cover letter expressing my interest and why I'm the right candidate- however I'm conflicted as to whether this letter should be specifically be about my career at Costco (which has almost been 6 months and only in the bakery so not much) or also include my previous work experience (I was a kitchen manager for 3 years, so I have some manager experience).

2022.01.25 01:29 dodgerbrewtx C191 Passed - Tips and Observations

I just barely missed passing this one with exemplary on my first attempt. It was simultaneously easy in some parts and challenging in others, if that makes any sense. There were probably 6-8 questions that I had narrowed down to two solid answers and then flipped a coin. Several questions had 3-6 terms that you have to map to drop-downs on the right with various descriptions.
I thought I would cover my approach since after reading many, many useful posts on how to go about this course, the one common theme that exists in almost all of them is to hunker down and read either the full or abridged texts. I am here to tell you, if you're anything like me, you're not learning anything by reading an 800+ page textbook on operating systems. That's just a fact of my own learning capabilities that I have accepted at this point in my life. So since I am very much a visual learner, I immediately set out to find some supplementary offerings that would keep me engaged.
Ultimately, here's what I did to get through it:

  1. Neso Academy Video Course - I tried watching 2 or 3 of the other video series and I just didn't like something about them. I really liked the guy that does this series and the way he covers the material. It's a comprehensive course that follows the textbook perfectly and leaves nothing out. Now, only the first few chapters are free, and if you want to do the whole series, you will have to upgrade and buy their "fuel" subscription. The upside is that doing this gives you access to all of their other courses, and since they have one on Discrete Math and that is next up for me, I decided to go for it. I think I spent about $20 for 90 days access but I felt it was well worth it. The course does offer several quizzes, but I did not use those so I cannot comment on their effectiveness. I watched every video on 1.5x speed and took handwritten notes throughout (as I feel that helps me retain them better than typed notes). This took me about three weeks as I only study a couple hours per evening during weekdays.
  2. Next, after finishing the video course I went through and did each post-quiz in the Wiley Engage course material. What I really liked about these is that for the questions you get wrong, it points you directly to the page in the textbook that covers that particular topic. So I started compiling a list with any question I missed or didn't feel comfortable about, and noted each provided page number.
  3. I then went through and skimmed the textbook. I know I said that I can't learn well from straight reading, and that is true, but after going through the video series first I had a pretty good level of understanding that allowed me to read and solidify some concepts to fill in some blanks. Reading the material as a follow-up is a different experience, at least it was for me anyways. I skimmed through the entire thing, spending more time in certain areas and using my list of missed topics/pages to focus on weak points. I also took more notes, but this time typed into my laptop which is much faster than handwriting for me. I was essentially writing what turned out to be very similar to the study guide.
  4. In my last couple of days before the OA, I went through quiz sail once, but I am not sure that was all that helpful. As most others have pointed out, you want understanding of core fundamentals more so than vocabulary memorization.
  5. About an hour before the exam I reviewed the entire study guide as a last minute cram session.
That was it, and I am glad it's behind me. I would definitely focus on understanding the various algorithms used in process management/synchronization, cpu scheduling algorithms, and memory allocation. When multiple algorithms or methods are covered, be sure that you feel comfortable with the differences between them as far as pros, cons, and why one would be used over the other. I thought the Neso Academy series did a wonderful job visualizing things like memory/disk allocation methods or page replacement algorithms that really stuck with me. When depicted a certain way, and being able to see it visually, these things tend to make a lot more sense than simply reading about how they work in a book.
Anyways, I hope this helps a few of you out. If you're like me and you struggle with reading dry text and actually retaining any of it, then maybe my approach will work for you. As others have said, if you are able to step back and approach this methodically vs trying to knock it out as quickly as possible, it will probably be a much better experience for you. There's a ton of really interesting knowledge packed into this course! Good Luck!

Going to be purchasing a first car sometime soon and was wondering if anyone knows any cars that have good safety ratings, but doesn’t look like a “granny car”. Good fuel economy and also the car being an automatic is a plus. Thank you to anyone who comments. ☺️
